Anthony Regalado

Anthony “Tony” Regalado, Age 88, passed into eternal rest with his Heavenly Father on March 18, 2020, surrounded by loved ones at his daughter’s home in Piney Flats, TN after a lengthy, courageous battle with renal cancer. Tony was born October 30, 1931, in Gary, Indiana to the late John Regalado and Josefina Ramos. He attended Indiana’s Frabel High School, after which he proudly served in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Celia Hernandez Regalado and daughter Eleanor Regalado. Anthony was employed by the Budd Company, where he retired after 33 years. Afterwards, he worked at El Matador Mexican Restaurant, the Johnson City Mall, Happy Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Elizabethton, TN, and owned and operated his own mowing service. In addition, he worked in roofing, home reconstruction, and as a welder. Gardening was a specialty. His main hobby was time with family and big cookouts. Tony was an "Elite" golfer, and elite billiards player, for which he received a Championship trophy in Puerto Rico. He also excelled as a Boxer in Indianapolis, IN, where he won the Golden Glove award in his division. His elite bowling skills earned him numerous awards. Tony was a softball player, and an avid card shark in spades, poker etc. He loved to listen to his favorite performers Whitney Houston and the mariachis. He loved to dance. Tony leaves to celebrate his life his daughters Maria Regalado of Piney Flats, TN and Toni (Thomas) Peterson of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Herbert and Tonio Regalado, and TJ and Tobias Peterson; great-grandchildren Aveon, Major and Azariah Regalado; special niece Paula Flores Virgen; and a grand host of siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins that he showed the unconditional love of an brother, uncle and friend. Special friends Rudy Allen, Debbie Dugger, and many more; and extended family Wendy Avery, Pam Taylor, Gerardo Saenz, Chon, Oscar & Sugelly, and Missy. Tony considered his family and friends among his greatest blessings. Tony will be laid to rest at the VA National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Due to the emergency status of the Coronavirus, there will be no viewing or burial services. Words of comfort and condolences may be sent to the family.
