Jerry Lynn Stevens

Jerry Lynn Stevens aka "Grandad" born on May 26, 1954 to the late Clyde Russell Stevens and Jennie Mae Stevens. Jerry was a graduate of Science Hill High School. He was a hard worker and had many different trades. Jerry could fix just about ANYTHING. He was an AMAZING father and grandfather. He poured SO much love into his grandchildren and loved them SO much! He was loving and caring and ALWAYS put others before himself and would drop anything for anyone! He fought SO hard to be there for ALL of his kids and grandkids. Jerry will be missed SO much! The family is so blessed to have had him for 64 years. Jerry was preceded in death by his sons, Jeremy Stevens and Dustin Tranburger. Brothers Melvin Stevens(Paula), Michael Fields, and Sister Pam McKinney(Robert). He leaves behind the LOVE OF HIS LIFE Nancy Greenlee. 11 children, Evette Michelle Mason, Angel Turner, Gerod Johnson, Todd Conley, Scotty Fain (Susan), Chasaty Greenlee, Natasha Greenlee, David Fair, Kendra Scruggs (Derek), James Stevens, and Shamus Stevens. And special daughter Nikki Fair. Siblings, Carrie Bell Johnson, Wilma Kay Love (Charles), Freddie Fields (Jaquetta), Janice Spurgeon (Billy), Renee Robinson, Debora Bonner (Kenneth), Arletha Adams, Joey Adams, and Jessica Bradley. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had MANY special grandchildren Tenisha Hutcherson, Tequis Hutcherson, Lyric Snyder, Michaeus Rowe, Desean Scruggs, Aayden Greenlee, Devin Scruggs, Lyla Jean Breeding, and Kensley "aka Kenzi per grandad" Lynn Scruggs (named after "grandad"). He sure LOVED ALL of his grandkids SO much! He also leaves behind special friends, Boyce Young, Sandra Bell, Sydney Adams, Terry Stevens, and G. L. Bristol. The family wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. John 14:1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30pm on December 23, 2018 at Grace Temple Church in Johnson City, TN. The family will receive friends from 3:00p until 3:30pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. ***Prior to the services, the family will be receiving friends at the home of Nancy Greenlee, 816 Montgomery St. Johnson City, TN.
