Jonathan Cornelius “Tut” Swindler, 50, gained his wings on Tuesday March 19 ,2019. Jonathan was the youngest of 3 siblings. Jonathan was born on January 29, 1969 in Johnson City, TN to the late Phillip C. Swindler and Ella Mae (Brown) Swindler. Jonathan leaves behind 2 beloved sisters; Pamela Swindler of Johnson City and Phyllis (Carlos) Noaks of Norton, VA. ; Danielle (Jeremy) Byrd of Jonesborough, TN; nephew Derek Noaks of Norton, VA and great niece Elliot Byrd of Jonesborough, TN. Additionally, he leaves behind aunts Queen Brown, Delcie Brown (and family) and uncle Boyce Young (and family); cousins ( and running buddies) Cecil (CB) Brown, David (Carmen) Brown, and Trent Robinson, and a host of relatives. Jonathan was educated in the Johnson City School System, graduated from Science Hill High School and received his license in Phlebotomy in Knoxville, TN. A lover of all types of music, he often worked as a DJ. A kind and gentle person, Jonathan never met a stranger. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. When he was in a room you knew it because there would always be a group of people crowded around him laughing. His favorite pastimes were music, cooking and hanging out with family, friends and his dog Fangus. Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank special friends for being there for Jonathan - girlfriend Elisabetta Proietto, Consuelo “Sway” Capshaw, childhood friends Brendan Coleman, Todd Smith and Derrick Warren, Rodney “Ra Ra” Locke, Sarah Lilley, Scott Michael and others too numerous to mention - You Are His Family Too. Whether he realized it or not, Tut showed us all how we should love one another. Johnny Tut, you were truly one of a kind and you will remain in our hearts and memories. We Love You. ❤️ A Home going service will take place on Thursday, March 28 at Thankful Baptist Church in Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30pm with the service starting at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens.
