Martha Nash

After a brave journey with cancer, Martha Ann Nash ,70, was called home by the Lord Sunday November 29,2020. She was surrounded by loved ones as her crown was placed upon her head, and she spread her newly earned wings. Martha was the daughter of the late Nettie & “Ed Lee” Johnson, and a native of Carter County. She was a loving homemaker and a bright light in her community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: Husband Sydney Nash, Uncle “Hopie”,A Grandmother Hattie Hughes, Donald Turner, Granddaughter Brandi Hughes, Aunt Melinda Rhea “Peanut”. Martha had a passion for R&B music. She loved dancing, or reminiscing to her favorite songs. Over the years she became known as “Momma” to many- a genuine nurturer and caretaker. She leaves behind the only legacy that holds value, LOVE. "Momma's" proudest accomplishment were her two daughters. She dedicated her life to family, and building a loving, generous, and compassionate community. She led by example by having a door that was always open, enjoying the simplicity of life, and being a daily reminder family is everything. She didnt care if no one spoke a word, she knew that together, with those you love, is the best & only way to spend your time. She leaves behind numerous friends and family to cherish her memory including: Daughters: Delores Ann & John Harris, and Sheila Ann Hughes; Son Pete Julian; Grandsons: Pete “Jordan” & Mindy Hughes, Malik Stephens, and Garret Reising; One Great Granddaughter; Juliana Hughes; Brother: Mikey & Brandye Johnson; Nieces and Nephews: Jazmine & Dakota Phillips, Breanna, Brooke, and Bridget, Nate, Cameron, Juan, and Cayden; A Special Friend of 20 years Wilbert Gamble: Close friends Melvin & Myra Miller; Numerous special cousins: including close cousins; Nancy Mack, Chanda Hughes, Tony & Tyesha Davis. A Memorial service will be held Saturday December 5, 2020 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Carver Recreation Center in Johnson City, TN. The family is receiving friends at the home of Michael Johnson. 500 Pardee St Johnson City, TN.
