Mr. Montreal C. Brown

Montreal Cornelius Brown, affectionately known as "Buster" and "Bounce," peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 18, 2024. Born on September 9, 1929, he was the cherished son of Patton Brown and Mamie Brown Scott. Bounce was a devoted husband and father whose passion was serving his family and leading them in their Christian Walk. Bounce's love for the community and having fellowship within and outside the church was his joy. His caring heart was to help anyone in need. He served as Elder of Bethel Christian Church, embodying a life of faith and service. Bounce was known for his loving, humble, and generous spirit. He often reminded those around him that "It's not about me" and "It's not about us", emphasizing that what we do for Christ is what matters the most. Bounce was a graduate of Langston High School and a retiree of Eastman Chemical Company. He was blessed as a skilled carpenter, electrician, and mechanic. His craftmanship blessed his family as well as the community at large. Bounce was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alma Floretta Brown; his daughter, Shelia Jenkins; his parents, Patton Brown and Mamie Brown Scott; step-father, Henry Scott; his grandparents, Witlow and Lucille Rutledge; his sister, Martha Brown; and his brothers, June Scott, Norman Scott, and Bobby Lee Scott. He is survived by his daughters, Joan (Wayne) Harris and Pamela (Bentley) Daniels; his grandchildren, Angela Harris, Ebony (Jeff) Horton, Dereth (Michael) Lewis, Essence (Andy) Vulcan, Carlos (Rebecca) Daniels, Ashley (Michael) Miller, and Adrian Mackey; and his great-grandchildren, Adarius Banner, Jerriah Love, Carson Daniels, Adam Daniels, Miaka, Madden, and Mathias Miller, Myla and Drake Lewis, Elijah, Nakiesha, and Quentin Vulcan; and great-grandbaby Island Royelle Love. He is also survived by his brothers, James Scott and William (Liz) Scott and extended family, Wilma (Wilbur) and Troy Jenkins. A host of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Nancy Robinson. Montreal Cornelius Brown's life was a testament to love, kindness, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. In our hearts and memories, his spirit will live on forever.
