Ms. Natanya Richele Conley

Natanya Richele Conley, affectionately known as "Chele" to her family and friends, was born on January 2, 1974, to DeAnna and John Conley, Sr., in Johnson City, Tennessee. She graduated from David Crockett High School in 1992. She then earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from King College and her Master's degree from Milligan College. Chele was employed by CenturyLink for over 20 years. In 2022, she started her own business. Chele was a lifelong member of Bethel Christian Church. She had an outgoing personality and loved to meet new people. She was a social butterfly who never knew a stranger, and her contagious smile easily spread throughout the spaces she inhabited. Chele loved spending time with her family and traveling in her free time. She especially enjoyed going to amusement parks and riding rollercoasters with her brother and niece. Chele was an active and positive force in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. from the day of her induction in 2016 into the Pi Omega Omega Chapter (serving the Tri-Cities). She served on several committees in the local Chapter and wider Southeastern Region. Her leadership was invaluable to her local Chapter, where she served as Chapter Secretary before becoming the Chapter President. Under her tenure, the membership of Pi Omega Omega grew significantly. The Chapter's presence was felt through her dedication and diligence to serving the families in the community. Chele was determined to impact young women's lives and was a mentor to many undergraduate Sorors at East Tennessee State University. She was also a member of the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce. She truly embodied "Service to All Mankind." Chele entered into rest on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James Surratt Jr. and John Warren. To cherish her memory, Chele leaves behind her daughter, Jocelyn Hill; grandchildren, Trinity and Dominic Blacksten; parents, DeAnna and John Conley Sr.; siblings, John (Shaunda) Conley Jr., Eligah Conley, and Beverly Houseal; grandmother, Lollie Surratt; nieces, Alanah Conley and Annalee Conley; nephews, Aiden Conley and Zion Griffin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that she loved and loved her.
