Ms. Wilma Jenkins

Ms. Wilma Faye (Bell) Jenkins was born on September 15, 1942, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Sidney Bell and Minnie Ireland Bell. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 2, 2026. Wilma grew up in the Park City community on Dole Street in Knoxville, Tennessee. As the only girl among six brothers, she often shared fond memories of her childhood—especially playing ball in the streets. She would laugh as she recalled tying her dress between her legs, trying not to be noticed by her mother, who wanted her to “just be a girl.” These stories reflected Wilma’s spirited personality and joyful heart. At an early age, Wilma was introduced to the church and gave her life to Jesus Christ at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Knoxville under the leadership of the late Rev. W. T. Crutcher. She later transferred her membership to Thankful Baptist Church in Johnson City. Wilma was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons, Harry H. Jenkins III (Joppa, MD), and Troy F. Jenkins of (Jonesborough), whom she shared with her late husband, SFC Harry H. Jenkins Jr. Through a blended family, Wilma was blessed with daughters-in-law, Lisa Jenkins and the late Shelia (Brown) Jenkins. She was the proud grandmother of Autumn Jenkins and Daniel Jenkins (Joppa, MD), Ashley Miller (Michael) (Simpsonville, SC), and Adrian Mackey of (Snellville, GA). She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren—Miaka, Madden, and Mathias—whom she dearly loved. Wilma also cherished her special and devoted son-in-law, Bryan Kelley, and took great pride in her entire family. Wilma later joined Bethel Christian Church, where she remained a faithful and active member. She served on the Deaconess Board, sang in the choir, and participated in the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Evangelism Committee. Wilma was known for her loving and infectious spirit, her generous heart, and her deep love for the Lord. Wilma leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, her daughter-in-law, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many friends whose lives she touched with kindness and love. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the members of Bethel Christian Church for the outpouring of love and support shown over the past several years, especially as Wilma’s memory began to fail.
